Materia
Command Materia
Slash All (x gil)
Level 3 Melee or Ranged: Despite the name, this works for ranged characters as well. Slash all allows your attacks to hit all foes in an area.
Double Cut(x gil):
Level 2 Melee or Ranged- x2 Cut: Attack twice as much as usual on a single target. Works with both range and melee.
Level 3 Melee or Ranged- x4 Cut: Attack four times as much as usual on a single target. Works with both range and melee.
Death Blow (x gil)
Level 1 Melee- D. Blow: An attack with a high miss chance. It is devastating if it impacts.
Level 2 Melee- Power Attack: An Attack that has about a 75% chance to hit. It is devastating if it impacts.
special: Can be used with ranged, but not acquired from the ranged skill tree.Jump (x gil)
Level 2 Melee- Jump: Jump into the air and make a devastating aerial attack next round. Ranged attacks still work against you.
Level 3 Melee- Double Jump: Jump as normal, but reenter the air right after dealing a blow. After dealing a second blow you must land. Ranged
attacks still work against you.
Manipulate (x gil): Allows control over an enemy for a turn. (Must have player consent as usual to use this on them).
Mime (x gil): Repeat the last action someone took, even if you could not normally. Does not function with limit breaks.
Sense (x gil):
Ranged 1: Scan: You have an IC knowledge of a scanned characters point build (such as if they are invested 3 points into mage and 1 into melee).
Ranged 2: Scan 2: You have an IC knowledge of a scanned characters point build and equipped materia. Can tell how much gil/items a player is willing to let you take with the steal materia (if any).
Ranged 3: Satellite: You have an IC knowledge of the location of the last person you scanned.
Steal (x gil)
Melee 1- Steal: Gives a low cost item (generated by the staff) when used on a player.
Melee 2- Mug: Gives a low cost item (generated by the staff) when used on a player while attacking them. Mug can be used with ranged (provided you flavor it creatively), but not acquired from the ranged skill tree.
Throw (x gil)
Range 1- Throw: You can throw weapons and other objects as if they were aerodynamic.Range 2- Bommarang: Thrown weapons return to you.
Support Materia
Support materia is useless on its own and is linked with other materia to achieve an effect.
Added Effect (x gil): Added effect allows you to add status effects to the weapon, or to gain immunity to it on your armor when linked to a materia that has status spells. Note that even if you do not have access to spell casting you can use magic materia to gain the effect.
All (x gil): All materia allows a single materia of your choice to be capable of hitting multiple targets that are close to one another.
Elemental (x gil): Elemental materia allows you to become resistant to an element or to imbue your weapon with it. Must be linked to a materia with the desired effect type. Note that even if you do not have access to spell casting you can use magic materia to gain the element.
Quadra Magic (x gil): Casts the linked spell four times.
Offensive Materia
Air Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Aero: A gust of wind towards an opponent.
Level 2 Magic- Aero 2: A powerful gale of wind sends debris flying towards the target.
Level 3 Magic- Aero 3: An up-current of air sends the target flying upwards.
Comet (x gil)
Level 2 Magic- Comet: Comet hits 1 enemy with 1 large comet.
Level 3 Magic- Comet 2: Hits multiple enemies with several smaller comets.
Special: Comet does not function with the "all" materia.
Contain (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Freeze: A strong frost attack that has a chance of freezing the target in place for two rounds.
Level 2 Magic- Break: A powerful earth attack has a chance of petrifying an opponent, turning them to stone.
Level 2 Magic- Tornado: A powerful wind with a chance to cause the opponent to become confused.
Level 3 Magic- Flare: A powerful fire attack on par with fire 3.
Earth Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Quake: The ground beneath the target shakes and throws them off balance.
Level 2 Magic- Quake 2: The ground cracks beneath the target and large hunks of debris pepper them.
Level 3 Magic- Quake 3: The ground erupts violently with earthen spikes.
Fire Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Fire: Creates a small bolt of fire.
Level 2 Magic- Fire 2: Creates a burning pillar of intense heat under the opponent.
Level 3 Magic- Fire 3: Creates a powerful localized explosion around the target.
Gravity Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Demi: The power of gravity compresses against the target, making them feel heavy.
Level 2 Magic- Demi 2: The power of gravity compresses against the target, making them feel crushed.
Level 3 Magic- Demi 3: The power of gravity compresses against the target, making them feel deformed.
Ice Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Ice: Creates a burst of bitter cold around the target.
Level 2 Magic- Ice 2: A wave of frost explodes onto the target, impaling them with small icicles.
Level 3 Magic- Ice 3: Ice encases the target until they are able to break free.
Lightning Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Bolt: A single bolt of lightning descends upon the target from above.
Level 2 Magic- Bolt 2: A single bolt of lightning strikes, and small bolts of static erupt from the ground.
Level 3 Magic- Bolt 3: A torrent of lightning strikes the target repeatedly.
Ultima: (x gil)
Level 3 Magic- Ultima: A powerful non-elemental spell that hurts all enemies.
Special: Does not function with support materia.Vampiric Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Drain: Able to sap a small amount of life from an opponent.
Level 2 Magic- Vampiric Regen: Damages an opponent and heals you by a small amount each turn.
Level 3 Magic- Vampire: Drains a large amount of life force from an opponent.
Water Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Aqua: A torrent of water sprays the target.
Level 2 Magic- Aqua 2: A geyser of hot water erupts under the opponent.
Level 3 Magic- Aqua 3: A whirlpool surrounds the opponent, spinning them and bashing them against the terrain.
Status Materia
Barrier (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Barrier: Barrier reduces damage from physical attacks.
Level 2 Magic- MBarrier: Reduces damage from magical attacks.
Level 3 Magic- Reflect: Bounce back magical attacks.
Level 3 Magic- Wall: Cast Barrier and MBarrier.
Destruct (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- DeBarrier: Removes removes Barrier, MBarrier, Reflect, and Wall.
Level 2 Magic- DeSpell: Removes Regen, Haste, Slow, Stop, Resist, and Death Sentence.
Level 3 Magic- Death: Causes a target to pass out. Very low rate of success.
Mystify (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Confu: Confuse a target, they are unable to tell friend from foe.
Level 2 Magic- Berserk: Send a target into a rage. They may only make simple attacks and won't stop rampaging until they pass out.
Poison Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Bio: Bubbles of poison barrage the target, may cause internal damage to the lungs that causes a slow unpleasant death.
Level 2 Magic- Bio 2: Bubbles of poison causes the kin to blister, may cause internal damage to the lungs that causes a slow unpleasant death.
Level 3 Magic- Bio 3: Bubbles of poison erode the flesh of a target, may cause internal damage to the lungs that causes a slow unpleasant death.
Seal Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Sleep: Put a target to sleep. If hit they wake up.
Level 2 Magic- Silence: Silence a target, making them unable to use magic.
Time (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Haste: A target can move quicker and make more attacks than normal.
Level 2 Magic- Slow: A target is made slower and their reaction time is halved.
Level 3 Magic- Stop: The target is stopped for a turns, stuck in time.
Transform (x gil)
Level 1 Magic: Blind: Clouds the targets eyesight, making it difficult to see.
Level 2 Magic- Mini: Make a target miniature sized.
Level 3 Magic- Toad: Make a target turn into a toad, unable to cast spells or do anything for the duration.
Resoration Materia
Exit: (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Escape: Teleports you to where you last slept.
Level 2 Magic- Remove: Teleports a target to wherever they last slept.
Heal Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Poisona: Cures poison status.
Level 2 Magic- Esuna: Able to cure all status effects.
Level 3 Magic- Resist: Preemptively prevents next status effect.
Restore Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Cure: Able to cure most simple wounds.
Level 2 Magic- Cure 2: Able to cure serious wounds.
Level 2 Magic- Regen: Wounds close over time, keeping the target healthy.
Level 3 Magic- Cure 3: Able to fully restore health of even the most wounded.
Revive Materia (x gil)
Level 1 Magic- Life: Bring a target back from unconsciousness, but their wounds will still be severe.
Level 2 Magic- Life 2: The target is brought back from unconsciousness unwounded.
Summon
Summon materia is considered level four magic, stronger than mortal magics. You may only use one summon once per thread.
Choco/Mog Materia (x gil): "Kupo! Wark!" Summons a Moogle riding a Chocobo, which crashes into enemies with powerful wind magic.
Shiva Materia (x gil): "The empress of ice, wreathed in frost. She is known for her signature move, Diamond Dust, which freezes everything in an instant." Summons Shiva to attack enemies with powerful ice magic.
Ifrit Materia (x gil): "A powerful djinn with control over scorching flames hot enough to turn the whole world to ashes." Summons Ifrit to attack enemies with powerful fire magic.
Ramuh Materia (x gil): Summons Ramuh to attack enemies with powerful lightning magic.
Titan Materia (x gil): Summons Titan to attack enemies with powerful earth magic.
Leviathan Materia (x gil): Summons Leviathan to attack enemies with an intense tidal wave.
